Our experience has been that whilst beginning an 'alternative worship' service can be daunting, it becomes easier with good support and resources. It is therefore our vision to create a strong support structure at the centre of the network that will enable groups to multiply in the years ahead.
Each 'Dream' group will have its own distinctive vibe, while at the same time belonging to something bigger with shared values.
Each group will also, as it develops, become part of the resource as they feed in their own materials and experience.
What are the requirements for becoming a ‘Dream’ group?
Any new group will need to 1. Fully share the vision and values of the network. 2. Begin a process of building a relationship with the network.
What resources will the network be able to offer new groups?
We are working to develop the following resources. They will all continue to evolve as the network grows;
1. Personal support: We're still learning, but we can help to share the vision and offer ongoing support. Within the network there are also a number of people with technical expertise. 2. This website: To advertise events. We are also developing a new part of the site for downloading some of the resources below. 3. Service outlines to adapt with suggested music, images and video clips and prayer stations. 4. Materials available to borrow (e.g. labyrinth mat, cds, dvds, props) 5. Invitation postcards. 6. 'Outreach' suggestions and material for taking Dream into the market place. (we already have an adapted 'essence' course, and two large installations for use at community events.) 7. Joint events: This Summer, Dream is working together at Greenbelt, Merseyfest and the St Helens Show. We are also planning to begin occasional regional joint worship events.
