Lent - Day 38: Waiting
Written by Andy

When we are waiting for something we want the time seems to drag on forever; yet when we wait for something we are not looking forward to it arrives quicker than the passing of the night.

I wonder how Jesus found the waiting; I wonder how much he knew of what was going to happen; I wonder how instead of being overwhelmed by fear and dread he was on the streets demonstrating the love of God to the very people who were about to scream for his crucifiction. What about me, what would I do? I wonder...

I have a very serious appointment looming over my head, and time to do with that seems very strange. On the one hand it seems like forever to know whether I'm getting better or worse, on the other it's coming up too quickly! I don't know how to feel about it really.

Waiting can be very tough but bitter-sweet too. Waiting alongside a seriously ill friend or relative is exhausting and yet it's at those times that you really value the moments that would usually sail past unnoticed. At least, that's my experience anyway...

BTW- good luck with your appointment, Lucy, I hope you're getting better!
