This just made me think of how comfortably numb we can become in our own spirituality. How we don't want to be challenged because we are alright where we are. How we don't want to sacrifice our lives because we are so nice and comfortable. But then looking at it how being comfortably numb actually leads you to regress back, because where does the growth come from, where does the development of the real you come from? Where does your relationship with God really go? Jesus was challenged when he went into the desert, and from it he knew what he had to do... he could so easily have said yes to satan, and been comfortably numb with his life, but he didn't. He gave his all for each one of us.
